Transport Coördinator

As a Transport Coordinator in Waalwijk, you will be responsible for various types of cargo across different countries and regions. You will coordinate transport in the broadest sense of the word: from container transports that need to be stored or delivered directly to the customer, to FTL shipments and groupage via KLG Venlo. You ensure that shipments arrive at the right destination on time, without damage and in accordance with the applicable requirements. You work independently, while also working closely with your team

What are you going to do?

As a Transport Coordinator, you start your day by reviewing the planning from the previous day. You then continue with the planning for the current day and the days ahead. Throughout the day, you are in contact with colleagues from various departments, carriers and the customer.
You work in a lively and dynamic department where teamwork comes first. There is room for social interaction and a joke, but we also roll up our sleeves together to make sure we provide our customers with the best possible service. At the end of the day, you review your digital planning once more and head home with a sense of accomplishment.

• Receive, confirm and enter orders received directly from the customer, including
creating the corresponding file;
• Assign freight to one of our strategic carriers, continuously aiming to optimize the
balance between price and transport while meeting agreed lead times and
requirements;
• Prepare loading instructions and send them to the carrier;
• Provide the customer and/or warehouse with the planning for the next day’s outbound
transports;
• Provide carriers and trailer/container operators with complete and accurate instructions
for each trip or shipment;
• Coordinate container transports, including heavy containers that may require heavy
duty transport;
• Plan and follow up on FTL transports;
• Coordinate groupage shipments via KLG Venlo;
• Monitor shipments on a daily basis, including in-transit monitoring;
• Fulfil administrative requirements towards customers, consignees, carriers and the
internal organization;
• Maintain daily communication with carriers, customers and consignees;
• Receive complaints and resolve them appropriately or escalate them to the relevant
party.
In short: you take care of everything needed to ensure that planned and upcoming transports
run smoothly.

Your profile

• You have a MBO level 4 working and thinking level, or equivalent;
• You have at least 4 years of experience in a similar position;
• You have good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English;
• You work accurately and carefully, particularly when handling customer data;
• You communicate easily with people at different levels;
• You are able to work well under pressure and have strong planning and organizational skills;
• Skills in Word and Excel are an advantage.
