For our office in Venlo (revenue of approximately 130 million), we are looking for a Financial Controller to support management in financial management. He or she will report to the Financial Manager and work closely with various stakeholders. Financial integrity and control both within and outside the organization are of the utmost importance. As a Financial Controller, you’ll ensure that financial information is reported completely, timely, accurately, and efficiently. You’ll do this by conducting thorough audits and maintaining control over the various cash flows. To do this, it’s important that you’re proactive and have strong communication skills when interacting with various stakeholders. You’re also comfortable analyzing financial information and take a critical look at, for example, the reliability of the financial data in our system. Our organization is bursting with energy. What are you going to do?

Establishing and implementing internal control systems;
Conducting file reviews to ensure that invoicing is done correctly, even when, for example, changes are made to the process, system, or services;
Documenting, optimizing, and standardizing financial work processes and work instructions, and ensuring that these procedures are followed;
Preparing, managing, analyzing, and reporting on financial information (cash flow, margin analysis, P&L, working capital, etc.);
Analyzing monthly transportation and warehouse operations in collaboration with Supply Chain and preparing reports;
Preparing for the audit, including compiling balance sheet files, submitting annual financial statements, and conducting consultations;
Processing and verifying VAT returns;
Preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasts;
Preparing and verifying payroll records;
Conducting financial analyses, preparing reports for management, and following up on them.

Your profile

You have at least a bachelor’s degree in finance control, accounting, or controlling;
You have at least 3–5 years of work experience in finance;
Experience in and an affinity for the logistics sector are a plus;
You are able to build relationships and collaborate, and you have strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Dutch and English;
You possess analytical skills and a strong understanding of numbers;
You are proactive, critical, hands-on, results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and have a strong sense of responsibility;
You have an affinity for IT and automated processes.
