What are you going to do?
As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the effective, efficient, and results-driven execution of daily transport operations. You will lead a small team of approximately 3 FTE and ensure they perform at their best. You will coach, guide, and motivate your team while involving them in improvements, KPIs, and changing processes.
In addition, you will ensure timely administrative handling of transport files, efficient work processes, and the ongoing optimization of operations. You will support digitization and automation initiatives and translate improvement opportunities into concrete actions. You will also be responsible for optimizing financial performance and achieving both internal and external KPIs.
You will maintain strong relationships with carriers, agents, and customers, balancing their interests effectively. You will be visible within the operation, take ownership during escalations, and actively contribute to a professional, reliable, and efficient transport organization.
Your responsibilities include:
- Maintaining relationships with existing carriers, agents, and customers, both operationally and commercially;
- Strategically, tactically, and operationally leading, coaching, and motivating the team;
- Ensuring efficient staffing levels and balanced workload distribution;
- Monitoring daily output and making adjustments when necessary;
- Improving collaboration, communication, and information transfer within and outside the department;
- Monitoring KPIs and initiating improvement actions;
- Preparing for and participating in Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs);
- Supporting the department in the broadest sense;
- Making decisions related to daily operational progress;
- Mediating in issues, deviations, and escalations;
- Continuously improving procedures and processes, with attention to people, systems, and processes;
- Analyzing departmental results monthly and preparing recommendations and improvement proposals.
You will report to the Senior Account Executive.

Your profile
For this role, we are looking for a Transport Manager who is confident, resilient, and able to build strong relationships. You are analytical, an excellent communicator, and know how to guide people through change and improvement.
In addition, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Bachelor’s degree level of working and thinking (HBO) or equivalent;
- Experience in a comparable management position within the logistics or transport sector;
- Knowledge of and experience with international transport, including road, rail, and/or multimodal transport solutions;
- Comfortable operating between customers, carriers, agents, and internal stakeholders;
- Strong people management skills and empathy;
- Ability to translate vision and strategy into operational processes;
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English;
- Entrepreneurial, independent, results-driven, accurate, and hands-on;
- Strong sense of responsibility and involvement in daily operations;
- Strong analytical skills, numerical insight, and commercial awareness.
