“Logistics keeps surprising me. Every day I learn something new and feel more at home at KLG.”
Angela van Gemert,
Senior Marketing & Communication employee
“After graduating from the Hotel Management School Maastricht, my future looked very different from where I stand today. I started out in the world of hotels and events: dynamic, hospitable and always on the move. Yet I noticed that my interest increasingly shifted toward marketing (call it: ‘behind the scenes’) creatively translating strategy into experience. That transition felt natural, and one that would suit me well. But what came next, I never saw coming: a switch to the logistics industry.
To be honest, I had no idea beforehand what and especially how much hides behind logistics. How essential it is to daily life, to businesses, to international cooperation. From day one at KLG Europe, a whole new world opened up for me. The combination of a large organization with countless challenges, short lines of communication where possible, and international contact whenever needed makes my work incredibly diverse. I really enjoy collaborating with colleagues across different countries and cultures. It’s energizing and truly broadens your perspective.
My role within marketing gives me something quite special: I’m involved in operational activities, but I also get to look in from a strategic level. That ‘bird’s-eye view’ ensures that I’m continuously learning. I see up close how the operation runs, while also contributing ideas about how we present and further develop ourselves as an organization. Especially in times like these, with constant change, that combination makes it a role in which you can grow, explore, and keep challenging yourself.
Even though I come from a completely different industry, I feel completely at home at KLG. The organization is large, but the sense of involvement is close. I work with great colleagues, and the opportunities are there, you just have to seize them. And that’s what makes me continue building my future here with confidence, enjoyment, and curiosity.”
