Working in a planning department at KLG Europe; what does it entail? KLG Europe is a global logistics service provider since 1918. Passion for logistics takes center stage. We want to offer our customers complete logistics unburdening, from transport by road, water or rail to value added services in our modern warehouses.

This also means that we have a wide range of departments, functions and operations. After all, people are our most important factor.

In the Netherlands we have three branches, namely Rotterdam, Eersel and Venlo. All three branches have their own focus and specialism. Working in our planning department cannot be summarized under one job description or title. We have opportunities for transport coordinators, transport planners, forwarders, administrative employees, etc.

Our Rotterdam office is located near the port and is strong in sea and air freight. We offer an extensive range of services here, including customs and warehouse activities. We also make extensive use of intermodal transport. So at this branch you are mainly busy with container transport and planning, etc.

The branch in Eersel provides daily transport to and from France, with the specific focus on groupage transport (these are smaller transports of 1 to 3 pallets). We do this with our own modern fleet of trucks. In this position you will have a lot of contact with our own drivers.

At the Venlo location, we are freight forwarders. This means that we take care of the entire supply chain for customers, using a large partner network and external carriers. We provide daily transport to the whole of Europe, but also beyond. The department is therefore divided into different country groups.

So your position may look different for each branch. But of course there are also similarities. Working in our planning department means coordinating transport. That is why we also call our planners Transport Coordinators. It is a job with a lot of challenge, variety, switching, contacts with drivers, customers, partners, transporters, etc. This requires some flexibility, communication skills and stress resistance from you.
