Sportivity at KLG Europe

Sportivity is an important topic within KLG. Sports and exercise have been proven to contribute to the health and productivity of employees. Actively encouraging sportsmanship, pays off! Especially in an organisation where the majority of staff do desk work.

Within KLG Europe, employees are encouraged to exercise in various ways. During various sporting events, KLG Europe is on hand every year! The events are all about sportsmanship, but also contribute to solidarity and cooperation between colleagues. Together they show that they are not only a strong team on the work floor, but also outside it!

Civitas beach volleyball tournament

The Civitas Beach Tournament is a beach volleyball tournament in Venlo. Every summer, the tournament takes place at Sportpark Hagerhof in Venlo-Zuid. A large group of KLG employees attend the company tournament every year and show their worth in various teams. It is a recreational tournament, but there is also plenty of challenge for fanatical volleyball players.

Venloop

The Venloop is an event full of atmosphere and experience and is best known for the running day on Sunday. In recent years, the Venloop has continued to expand and the walking day is also an increasingly large and atmospheric event. There are several distances that can be walked on this day: 10 km, 20 km, 30 km and the marathon. KLG Europe employees from all branches in the Netherlands come to Venlo together with their partners and/or children to experience this sporty day together.

Bridge Run

On Sunday 11 December 2022, we took part in the Bruggenloop in Rotterdam with two Business teams. Together with some colleagues from KLG Eersel and KLG Rotterdam, we faced the cold (at the start, that is). The Bridges Run is a very special running event because it involves running across Rotterdam's iconic bridges (which therefore doesn't make it too easy). Furthermore, at the start you get two lights that you can put on your arms, so that at the end of the run (when it is already dusk) you will see lots of green lights.

Afterwards, we ended with colleagues having a drink in the Kuip. Unfortunately, we did not win any prizes!

Dragon Boat

The first edition of the Dragon Boat Festival de Kempen was organised on 3 June 2023 and KLG was there, of course! With 17 colleagues (16 rowers and 1 drummer; Marc Vrijdag) we stepped into a rowing boat 3 times to compete against 2 other Kempen companies per race. Super fun to take part with so many enthusiastic colleagues and also to see a whole bunch of colleagues standing on the side to encourage. It was a lovely day with glorious sunshine. After the races were over, it was time for the festival, where we had a great evening with some colleagues while enjoying a drink!

Parelrun

On 10 September, the KLG Pearl Run took place. As you can already read, KLG was the main sponsor of this. This was the second year KLG participated in this with a number of sporty colleagues. Despite the heat, the weather was super arranged.

Cycling round kermis Duizel

Unfortunately, the weather was not favourable, but despite this, KLG was once again the proud main sponsor of the Duizel Cycling Race. Nice to see so many sporty people from the Kempen region taking part in this cycle race in the middle of summer.

Gym KLG Eersel

To facilitate our colleagues in Eersel in terms of sports, we have set up a fitness basement in the new building at KLG Eersel. This is equipped with various cardio machines, weights, a smith machine and 2 fitness benches, among other things. Various colleagues use it enthusiastically before work, during breaks or after work (and even the drivers on Saturdays).

NK Cross - Sunday 17 December 2023

To get ahead of ourselves: as KLG, we are proud main sponsors of the KLG company run at the NK Cross at the E3 beach in Eersel on Sunday 17 December. As KLG employees, we can all take part in the various activities organised on that day, such as a walk, company run, recreational run and, of course, the cross itself.
