You will take ownership of the absence management process for our locations in Venlo and Waalwijk (more than 300 employees). You will act as a valued sparring partner for managers and HR colleagues. With your sharp analytical skills, you identify trends and behavioral patterns and make them open for discussion. You are confident in challenging managers constructively and actively contribute to creating a healthy, professional, and safe working environment. Due to the retirement of the current Case Manager, we are looking for a successor for this position. As an Internal Case Manager, you will report to the HR Manager. Your primary workplace will be Venlo, and you will work at our Waalwijk location one day every two weeks.

What are you going to do?

  • Manage the complete absence management process and ensure compliance with the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter);
  • Guide reintegration processes and monitor progress and results;
  • Maintain contact with employees, managers, occupational physicians, and external stakeholders;
  • Ensure complete and accurate absence and reintegration files, including all related administration;
  • Advise and support managers and employees on absence reduction and sustainable employability;
  • Analyze absence figures, identify trends, and propose improvements;
  • Implement, monitor, and optimize absence, health & safety, and psychosocial workload (PSA) policies;
  • Conduct absence management and coaching conversations and provide training related to absenteeism and employee well-being;
  • Maintain relationships with external parties such as occupational health service providers, UWV, and reintegration agencies;
  • When necessary, guide, advise on, and follow up reports concerning inappropriate behavior in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree level of working and thinking, preferably with a completed degree in Human Resource Management, Health Management, or a related field. A completed post-bachelor qualification such as CRoV (or equivalent) is a strong advantage;
  • At least 5 years of experience in absence management as a Case Manager and knowledge of the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter). This is a requirement;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Comfortable acting as a critical discussion partner and able to challenge managers constructively;
  • Accurate, proactive, and organizationally aware;
  • Reliable and professional, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
  • A team player who is also capable of working independently;
  • In possession of a valid category B driving license and willing to work at the Waalwijk location one day every two weeks;
  • Experience with HR systems, preferably AFAS, is an advantage.
